Drive 1 hour east to Fjaðrárgljúfur, a stunning 100-meter-deep canyon carved by glacial meltwater. Walk the 2km rim trail for breathtaking views into the sinuous, moss-covered gorge. The Fjaðrá river snakes through the narrow canyon floor far below. The beauty is ethereal—green moss, vertical walls, and winding waterways.

Sunrise at Jökulsárlón

Wake early and drive 45 minutes to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon for sunrise. The early light illuminates the icebergs with magical colors—pink, orange, blue. The lagoon is calm and reflective. Drive the spectacular F208 Fjallabak route into the Highlands—a 3-hour journey through some of Iceland's wildest terrain. Cross rivers, navigate washboard gravel roads, pass obsidian lava fields, and climb into multicolored rhyolite mountains. The landscape becomes increasingly alien—rainbow peaks in colors from yellow to red to blue. This is adventure driving.

Drive to Seljalandsfoss (Route 1)
